We experienced our first snow in Amsterdam. Sure, there was a heavy frost the day we left to come home for the holidays (but that wasn’t really snow). There has been the occasional hail/almost snow moments. But tonight, we had snow!!!
I had just made it home from school and the grocery on my bike. The entire trip eying the darkening sky and debating if I REALLY needed to pick up avocados, chips and beer for Taco Night. My belly said yes!! So I took the gamble. Just as I got off the lift at our apartment, the hail came down in swell of wind. A little later came the SNOW.
Big fat snowflakes!!! I ran onto the balcony to take pictures. And yes, to catch a few on my tongue. Which I did! They were tasty. Then I wondered what sort of particulates and chemicals were in that snowflake. Yes, always the treehugger (former Air Director).
So maybe the snow was gone in 5 minutes, but before that it brought back a little of home!!
